After a couple weeks of swiss-cheese-fingers [needles can be sharp!], we are proud to announce that Brett finished her first stuffed Clan Cat.

Lightning Kit is happy to join The Girl and her paper cat gang.

Lightning Kit

We used a pattern I found here for a stuffed bear, with adjustments for the tail and ears. Mama did a cat or two for test runs. The two of us did a cat together, then The Girl cut loose on her own. Brett did the entire project herself — cutting the felt, pinning the pieces, sewing them all, stuffing it, and sewing on the details like claws and noses.  Can you tell that girl is proud proud proud.

Everyone’s getting into the yarnfest here [well, except for Daddy. He ain't gonna knit.]  Thank goodness for knitting looms as I’ve got ten thumbs, and could never teach the kids to do this with needles. We have got round looms, spools, long looms, and about 10,000 skeins of yarn.  By the time we get done, everyone we know will have some sort of hat/scarf/blanket.  You know what Mama could use…
