Perhaps a little too much pressure, but the poor girl had a rough time of it today and was struck by “stage fright.”  I’m sorry I don’t have any photos of her jumping for you today, but here is a proud Brett this evening at home, sporting her medal.

It has to be said that Luke is really the best cheerleader.

He was so proud of his sister.  He even made his own sign

he wrote it all himself!

Luke clapped and cheered for every kid participating today – and jumped around a bit himself as well.

This is my Papa Herbie [aka Herb Albert].  He is my Mama’s daddy.  He lives in Omaha, Nebraska and likes to share unsuitable snacks with me & my brother when we visit him.  He sends me photos of my good buddy, his dog Fredo, since I don’t get to play with him too often.  Last year Papa Herbie had a heart attack and had bypass surgery.  He is now fully recovered thanks to great doctors.

This is my MaggaJu [aka Judy Albert].  She is my Mama’s mama.  She lives in West Allis, Wisconsin. We love to play with her.  She lets us put funny hats on her, makes my Pet Shops talk in different voices, and is a great colorer.  Last year MaggaJu had a series of strokes and had to have surgery.  Thanks to Froedert Hospital and a fantastic man named Dr. Fitzsimmons, MaggaJu gets to keep wearing funny hats.

This is my MaggaRu [aka Linda Ruper].  She is my Daddy’s mama.  She lives in Waukesha, Wisconsin.  MaggaRu is fun because she gives us horsey rides, and doesn’t even mind when Lukey whacks her on the butt and says “giddyup!” to make her go faster.  She is lots of fun and is always laughing with us.  Last year MaggaRu also had a stroke, and had to stay in the hospital for a long time.  She has done lots of therapy, and I am so proud of her hard work.  MaggaRu is doing wonderfully now.

These are the three reasons I am doing the Jump Rope for Heart at my school, Berewick Elementary, on December 9th.

I am only five but I already know a lot about my heart and arteries.  I know how important it is to take good care of myself by exercising, eating Grow Foods, and going right to bed at night without any argument [I'm not sure how that helps my heart, but Mama says...]

The Jump Rope for Heart is going to be great exercise and a lot of fun.  And I’ll learn even more about staying healthy.  And I get to help others.  I love to be helpful!

I hope to raise $100 for the American Heart/Stroke Association and help keep everyone’s hearts and blood vessels healthy!
