The New House

We’ve gotten some requests for more House Stuff here at the Wallners’. So here you go, people. Even though our house is basically brand-new, we get antsy without a Project in the works, so you will see lots of changes happening as we go.

When building the house, we didn’t have a ton of options. The way the builder operated was like nothing we’ve seen before. Which is probably why they can crank their construction out so quickly. They don’t allow for a lot of hemming and hawing and they don’t give you infinite choices. For example, your kitchen flooring? Would you like Light, Medium, or Dark? Yeah, that’s pretty much how it went. We are happy with what we picked from our very small menu — but we want to keep working on making our home a little less Builders’-Special and a little more Wallners. Goodbye, builder flat white paint. Hello, color. Add a few cabinet pulls and some ferns on the porch, and suddenly it feels like Our Home.

The backyard project has taken over our existence lately, but we’ve managed to squeeze a few other changes in during the wait. Here are some “before” shots and some pictures of what Casa Wallner looks like today. Enjoy.
