About The Wallners

Aric aka DaddyAric Wallner is better known as “Daddy” or “Big Man” in our house.  He has enjoyed two mild winters since fleeing Wisconsin, although this year he actually had a Snow Day [Ice Day if you want to get technical].  But as long as he doesn’t have to shovel, he is content with living in North Carolina.

Aric has been busy lately with work, work, and more work. And somehow still fits in wrestling and battling with the kids. And doing house projects at his wife’s insistence. And searching for night classes to take.  And mowing his father’s lawn. And acting as his dog’s personal lounge pillow.  He still enjoys playing EVE and D&D — in his five minutes of remaining spare time.  Aric is thirty-seven.

Lisa aka MamaLisa Wallner is better known as “Momo” at Casa Wallner.  She is the maid, laundress, supply clerk, snack administer, and dog brusher.  After moving to her brand-new house last summer, she has found way too many house projects to add to her To-Do List. Her favorite thing to do, apparently, is hang things on the wall, change her mind and take them down, and then patch up the holes.

Lisa is still the webmaster of THEWALLNERS.COM. Also, since it’s her camera anyways, she is the family historian.  For the last few years, she’s been busy being principal, administrator, and teacher at Wallner Elementary.  She was thinking of taking up knitting, but decided instead to enjoy a cocktail.  Lisa turns forty this year.

Brett aka The GirlBrett Wallner a.k.a. Sweetie Sweet Cakes is The Girl.  She still reads anything that’s got words on it and is the author of many stories.  We’re still thinking 2031 Pulitzer Prize. Or maybe a Newbery Medal.  Brett recently finished the entire Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Brett enjoys playing with her dog and trying to teach it new tricks.  She is still trying to grow her hair as long as Padme Amidala and Princess Leia.  Though technically in 1st Grade, Brett is all over the map in her schooling, and can read better than most of us.  She is a hard worker and a hard player. Brett turns seven this Spring.

Luke aka The BoyLuke Wallner, a.k.a. Dude, is The Boy.  He sometimes needs to be coaxed and/or bribed and/or threatened, but he is doing well with his schooling.  Technically he’s a Kindergartener, but like his sister is all over the place. He recently started enjoying Brett’s Warrior cat books for himself.

Luke still enjoys being ferocious dinosaurs, but his newest love is Dungeons and Dragons.  He can often be found playing tug-of-war with his dog, although now that she’s nearly double his weight, Luke often loses the battle. He is just as funny and sassy and tough as ever.  Luke turns six this summer.

Lucy Inoue of the Underfoot Clan is probably best known around here as HEY!!! [when she's getting into the kids' stuff].  She’s tipping the scales at 75 pounds, and we’re not so sure she isn’t still growing.  She is a Good Dog and enjoys milk bones and weekend nature walks with her pack.

Lucy likes Mama’s vacuum, Daddy’s backpack — really any sort of luggage — and bringing people their shoes.  She’s got the jaws of a crocodile and currently holds the World Record for shortest time to consume an entire chewie.  She also is leaving behind an impressive Body Count, as her other favorite thing to do is gut all her stuffed toys.

Lucy will be one year old in July.
