Puzzles
We are totally into word search puzzles these days.
I found this great site called Armored Penguin where you can create your own. I’d been trying to come up with some fun ideas to help Brett study her spelling words, and found a couple places to make word searches and scrambles and all sorts of good stuff.
And, to my non-surprise, the idea has really taken off!
First puzzle was for Brett’s six spelling words to study this week. Next thing I knew, requests were flying: a puzzle about Star Wars guys, one with her favorite people and restaurants and stuffed animals, one with the characters in Brett’s latest completed book, Warriors: Into the Wild, etc etc etc.
Thought I’d throw just one in for The Boy as well. Wasn’t sure if he’d dig it, but turns out he loved his first puzzle

which was a pretty simple one: Luke, Daddy, Mama, Brett, Papa, Ruke & Tuke, bugs, and cheese. Since then, like his sister, he’s been flinging requests at me almost faster than I can make em: one with a bunch of the words he knows, ocean creatures…and of course one on Star Wars guys for him as well.
These are all puzzles they begged and bugged for and completed just today!

Need I say it again? I’ve created a[nother] monster! :o)
