Chatting with the kids about our library plans for this afternoon.
From The Boy:
And I’m going to find a cat book for my Sweetie Sweet Cakes.
Feel free to say “Awwwwwww” now.

The photos didn’t turn out very well, but, since I promised. The scene tonight:

And at the end, when the lights came back on, Luke won a medal for his bravery in saving the universe.

So what. It got both the kids to do their schoolwork with cooperation.

And it’s such a beautiful afternoon [66], how could we not go cruising?

And, of course, a quick stop to check for bugs

The kids think this light fixture looks like the Death Star. SO, now, an epic space battle is being planned for tonight. Once the sun goes down, Daddy has to crank up the star machine so we can get the full effect.

I’ll TRY and get a shot of that tonight if I can.
For those keeping tabs.
For both kids -
Chemistry: Un-Mixing
Geography: Continents + Oceans
Writing: Letters to all the friends + family we owe [yes I finally ordered stamps!]
Lukey:
HWT workbook – Center Starting Capital letter practice, e.g. O, C, Q etc.
Math: Finished with patterns and shapes, on to length + size
Reading: cranking out those sight-word flashcards and as much Dr Seuss-y reading together as Mama can stand
Brett:
HWT workbook – basic penmanship practice + punctuation
Math: Reviewing all her addition/subtraction facts to 10. Reviewing addition to 20. Starting this week on subtraction to 20.
Grammar: Still on nouns. This week common + proper nouns, singular + plural nouns.
Spelling: Review – âr words [bear, bare] and îr words [hear, here] – those homonyms are tricky!
Reading: anything the child wants! She’s finishing up Matilda by Roald Dahl and has been also enjoying several Beverly Cleary books, Henry Huggins and Runaway Ralph.
Library Monday is rescheduled for probably Tuesday. I’m trying to give Brett an extra day to finish up Matilda.
So far Brett’s math review has been awesome. [click below to enlarge and see for yourself]. The stuff on the bottom refers to the mini peanut butter cup she gets as a reward for her 100%s. Atta girl!
Funny: we had to do Luke’s math chapter on patterns in like 4.5 seconds because, thanks to Brett’s former school, both children are sick to death of them! ;o) the rest of the week’s work should be more interesting for The Boy.
After our work was done, the kids chilled out with some coloring

and will be receiving the promised Big Wheel Cruise Around The Neighborhood as soon as their teacher gets done updating their fans.
Stay tuned for more updates from W.E.
